BOM Announcement...

Announcing a FREE Block of the Month pattern from Chitter Chatter Designs!

I will be posting a free pattern every other Thursday starting April 1st!
(and no.... this is not a joke! Just a fun project for us fools for fabric!)
.
We will be stitching up two blocks per month. This pattern is an embroidery/stitchery pattern that you can use to create your treasured little one a special quilt. It will require little swatches of fabrics, so ladies... time to use up that stash! Pattern will feature embroidery instructions as well as block assembly instructions, it's super easy!
(Now that's saying something coming from me!)
Quilt finishing instructions will be given with the last month's block.

The FREE pattern will be available for 4 weeks only!!!
Make sure you follow along, and print out your patterns as they come out.

Hmmmm...

Can't figure out just what isn't working here....
.
There is nothing like a little failure to encourage success!
I will enjoy my little failure,
....because....
I have learned some new techniques in embroidering my sweet little birdies,
and I think I have created another cute little bird grouping
who will be adorning something a little more worthy of showing soon!
.
Does anyone out there still hang laundry?
Probably not, but I plan on doing it to save money this summer!
Thanks to the elite in Washington who think they can spend that endless supply of money

Call for Action!

A speech more noteworthy than the $#%&X!! offered today...
On it's anniversary, given in 1775... just an exerpt:

Design me a Chicken Coop?

What??? A chicken coop?

So, I'm setting the quilts aside for today to come up with a coop design

for the little ones who have been growing up way too soon.

Isn't that just like a bunch of little ones?

We have decided something like this one would be just perfect....
but being a designer, I can't just follow the instructions....
I have to "improve" it!
(Alice in wonderland is still swimming in my head.)

Yes,... it is an illness.
OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Designing... yet again.
I took so many architectual design classes, why let it go to waste right?
Meet our little chicks; Wilma, Licorice, Hickety Pickety, Sophie, Omlet, Babe, and Chickita.
They're really excited about getting new living quarters.
Can't you tell?

It's finished!!!
After waiting all winter, I am so excited to get this one done.

who will add her amazing touch and turn this piece of cloth into a wonderful, warm quilt to snuggle under.

Finishing up.

The birdies and cherries who have been patiently waiting all winter are finally getting the finishing touches just in time for spring. I get to take them to the quilter this week and in a couple of weeks, this pattern will be ready to go!
Yeah!
After I get the birdies out of the nest....
This is the project I will be working on with that wonderful stack of fabrics I had been wondering what to do with a few posts back.
I am really liking the direction this one is going.

In other news, the house is a disaster again...
I am in the process of recovering my furniture....
and painting to make the furniture look like it belongs here.....
along with lots of encouraging just to get the kids out of bed in the morning to get off to school.
Chaos....yet again.
Don't you just love spring?
