My stay at the quilt retreat this past weekend was cut short by some car problems, and a beautiful daughter who had to have a dress for her dance this past weekend. I thought you would like to take a peek at my attempt at fashion. (Reminder to myself.... take a better picture next time!)It really did turn out cute!
This past weekend I was a guest at the Ruby's Inn Quilt Retreat. This retreat is made possible by an amazing woman by the name of Bonnie Miles. Bonnie, I want to thank you for such a wonderful weekend, I felt like a queen. I had this little tag, who I gave to the waiter whenever I was hungry at the cafe who just brought me a great tasting dish, I didn't even have to order. I roomed with such a sweet roommate, Laurie Bird of Rose Cottage, and was met with nothing but kindness. It has been a while since I have had such a "quilty" soul filling experience, and I hope to have an opportunity to experience it in it's entirety in the future. It seems these days no matter what I plan, there is always something I will most likely miss with my children. I only have a few years to enjoy these little gifts of joy, and I hope that you ladies will forgive me for my fickle attitude toward quilting at this time in my life. I am at a point in my parenting that I am beginning to realize how short this time is. How much the little things mean to those I love most. Thank you for understanding, and allowing me to be part of your lives too. Thursday evening Bonnie touched on a topic close to my heart... the importance of failure. You may remember my post about it a while ago, but for some reason I feel I have failed you ladies. I could have done so much better, and I hope to have another opportunity to do so. I do want to share with you how much I appreciate all of you. You make this dream of mine possible, and with your support and help, I hope to keep creating great designs for years to come. Thank you very much for everything you do for me. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful day today! Hugs, -Cori

Cori,
Family always comes first! There are always bumps in the road, but that does not determine our successes. What matters is those close to you. We in blog land surely understand!
Blessings,
Darlene
