As many of you know, I have been bragging about my little chef in the making. Just look at these dishes that this group of budding chef's have made.
Everything about them is amazing, looks, and especially taste!

These dishes were all made by our ProStart team at the High School. My daughter is the team captain, and she is mostly in charge of the dessert, a coconut pana cotta with topical fruit salsa -
DELISH!
and the creamed corn hiding under that beef tenderloin roll. My life has been nothing but this team for the last month. I gladly volunteered to do dishes so I could "taste test." Madi has been making panna cotta everyday for the last two weeks, I can't seem to get enough. Good thing she only made two servings at a time!

Here she is with her team at the competition (Madi is the one in the middle.) It was last week. She lost to another school, whose prayer at the start of the competition should have included the strength to have more Christ-like behavior, but sadly did not. The kids did wonderful and finished on time despite their challenges. They had to finish everything in one hour.
It was INTENSE!
One of our local Chef's, Chef Todd, mentored our kids, and showed them how to make their
yummy food.
I had to thank him properly.. with a quilt of course! Isn't it just the cutest?
This quilt has a few of his famous sayings as he mentored these kids. They included things like "Practice now not to be a slob." and "That is sexy corn right there!" He is such a happy chef, who randomly sings at times. He simply has a lot of fun! The kids loved him and I am so thankful he took the time to share his talent with our team.
Chef Todd you're the best, we love you!

In our running around gathering weird food items I have never bought before, we got into a car accident. Remember that one snowy night a while back??? We were stupid and went out in it. Our poor little Goldilocks didn't make it, she was totaled that night. I don't know why I get so attached to cars. I love them so....
Curse you Walt Disney and your cute little "car"toons!
You make everything come to life!
Here is my new ride. Such a man car... and sounds like one too.
I am still getting used to it. It is going to tow our camper like a dream this summer! I hope "Oreo" and I can pal around together for quite some time.
Meanwhile, I am trying to get back to work, so please forgive me for being so late with the bird tutorial. I hope to have it up soon! Speaking (or rather writing) of the Birds on the Calendar BOM, is there anything you would like to see a tutorial on?

What a great quilt for any chef to be...wonderful news though to have. Chef in house ....and new wheels....wow...that is a Power wagon
Yay for Madi and her team. That looks like so much fun...and your taste-tester job sounds fabulous. I didn't know you guys got in a wreck...are you all doing okay? Thanks for the fabric the other day! -Kathy
It sounds like you have had an eventful month. I am constantly amazed at how you can balance being mother, wife, and such an wonderful artist. The quilt is amazing!
your 'thank you' quilt to your smashing chef is just too dawgone cute! you have a fabulous way of expressing yourself through your sweet quilts. i bet that young man was so proud to receive your quilt. congratulations on a job well done! glad to see that you are all on your feet and doing well after that accident.
Wow, what a "thank you quilt". I love the center the way the blocks are chained, then it also looks like there is a secondary design there as well. It looks very impressive along with the applique.
wow what a great thankyou quilt - up to your usual wonderful standard... Madi looked great in her dance outfit too, she has grown up even more than last market..I have a budding chef here also, testing often - not good for the waistline tho..
